It started with Be Our Guest Restaurant back in 2012, and now, due to Guest demand, it’s rolling out to other Magic Kingdom table service restaurants. Beginning December 23, four more dining establishments will begin selling beer and wine.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Guests will be able to purchase an alcoholic beverage during lunch and dinner at Tony’s Town Square, Liberty Tree Tavern, Jungle Skipper Canteen, and Cinderella’s Royal Table. Beverages will only be sold in the restaurants; there will be no to-go orders available.

Beverages that will be available will fit the theme and cuisine of each restaurant. For example, Tony’s Town Square will offer Italian wines and beers; Liberty Tree Tavern will serve beer, cider, and domestic wines that match with the Thanksgiving-themed cuisine; Jungle Skipper Canteen will offer beverages with a global appeal to pair with its worldly menu; Cinderella’s Royal Table will continue with the posh theme by serving champagne and sparkling wine.

Many had wondered, myself included, if the addition of beer and wine at Be Our Guest Restaurant would lead to additional Magic Kingdom restaurants introducing alcohol into other restaurants. Seems that’s now the case.

Seth Kubersky’s Best Week Ever November 26, 2015: Magic Kingdom Thanksgiving Week Crowds

by on November 26, 2015

Ok theme park fans, it’s time to talk turkey! If you want to have the Best Week Ever at Walt Disney World, common wisdom says that the Thanksgiving holiday isn’t the most stress-free time to visit in terms of attendance. In fact, the last week of November can be one of Orlando’s busiest seasons, right behind Christmas Week and Spring Break. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t have a great time in the parks this week, as long as you go in armed with some advice from your friends at Touring Plans, plus a whole lot of patience. To prove the point, I recently spent an afternoon elbow-to-elbow with Magic Kingdom Thanksgiving Week crowds to bring you this turkey day travelogue. Hopefully you won’t find it too fowl!

Violating the first rule of holiday touring, I showed up at the Magic Kingdom not at rope drop, but at high noon, just as park attendance should be reaching its peak. Much to my surprise, I was parked not in outer Siberia, but in the Zurg section of the Villains lot, right night to medical parking. From here I could walk to the TTC as easily as taking the tram, a nice treat on a busy day.

Menu Monday – Give Me Liberty Tree or Give Me Death…

by on January 12, 2015

Hold on right here! I am not so sure about this whole death bit. I mean, eating at the Liberty Tree Tavern is a highlight of this foodie’s day. However, I’m not going to put ANY meal up against the likes of serious things like liberty. I am pretty certain that Patrick Henry would not find the humor in this play on words of his famous quote from 1775 regarding the Revolutionary War. But then again, he had never eaten at the Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch, had he?

Note: Liberty Tree Tavern is slated to go down for an extended refurb from July to November.

Location: Liberty Square, Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World
Meals: Lunch (11:30-3:00) and Dinner (4:00 – varies with park closing)
Reservations: Highly encouraged
Accepts: Disney Dining Plan (1 credit), Tables in Wonderland

Walt Disney World Newsworthy Notes 12/30/14

by on December 30, 2014

The year is almost over, and I’m back again with one more newsworthy update for 2014! There are quite a few things that guests should know about the Walt Disney World Resort for the beginning of the new year, so I’m here to share everything with you. Ready to get to it? Let’s go!

  • Back a few months ago, (October to be exact), we found out that Island Supply shop would be closing in Adventureland for a new concept. Many in the Disney community were hopeful…would we be getting a shop featuring some of the great Adventureland-themed merchandise sold at the Marketplace Co-Op? Well, I have your answer, and the answer is, “No.” The shop will reopen on January 8 as Island Supply by Sunglass Hut. That means you can purchase high-end sunglasses and other products offered by this new operating participant. In addition, another store selling similar merchandise will open on January 4 at Typhoon Lagoon: Sal’s Shades by Sunglass Hut.
  • Two of Epcot’s Innoventions exhibits will close in the beginning of January. The first is the THINK Exhibit by IBM. This exhibit in Innoventions East allowed guests to take part in three unique experiences that allowed them to engage in a conversation about how we can improve the way we live and work. This exhibit will close January 1. Also closing in Innoventions East is the Test the Limits Lab. Here guests can “test” products to make sure they are safe for consumers by shattering a TV screen, dropping a safe, and more. It will close on January 6. There is no word on whether anything will be replacing either of these two exhibits.

Daisy Lauren’s Best Week Ever: December 18, 2014

by on December 18, 2014

1Hi, Everyone! Welcome to the Best Week Ever here at Walt Disney World! This week we’re visiting the Disney’s Art of Animation Resort to check out a Cars suite. Then we’re stopping in the Magic Kingdom to see some parade taping fun, eating at Liberty Tree Tavern, and playing in the park. Lastly, we’re heading to Downtown Disney and even dropping by Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort! Phew – I’m tired already! Let’s get going! 🙂

I was really looking forward to checking into our Cars suite. I’d previously stayed in The Lion King section, but since I love Cars Land I thought this would be my new favorite. After a stop by the front desk to switch rooms (we’d been in The Little Mermaid section earlier in the week), we were off to the races. Or were we? You’ll have to read more to find out!
